It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the death of an eminent member of the ergonomics community, Professor Veerle Hermans from the Free University Brussels,  where she was head of the Ergonomics Unit. Veerle has been a registered European Ergonomist since 1997 and was widely known for her enthusiasm and commitment to our profession. Many of us considered her a good friend and we send our condolences to her close colleagues and family.
